I have read a few reviews and talked with a friend who is a fellow movie buff and to be perfectly honest, most everything I hear about this movie is negative.

After reading your review, I do want to see this movie again. I scares is is subjective. The Blair Witch Project scared the beejeebers but to most people I talk to it was just dumb. I guess maybe because they considered it to be too unbelievable and because there was no gory human vivisection.

Half of storytelling is the receiving end. Are you able to suspend belief long enough to be drawn into a story? I know folks who can't bare to see through science fiction, fantasy, or horror because things like that "don't really happen in real life" and so they are confused and repulsed by anything too out of the ordinary.
