Obama & Infanticide
Take a look at this article by non-partisan Fact Check.org. It addresses the controversy between the National Right to Life folks and Senator Barak Obama. While he was a state legislator in Illinois, Obama voted against legislation, more than once, which would have granted legal protection for babies who survived botched abortions. Obviously, these proposed laws would only be referring to later term abortions since the really early fetuses are minced inside the mothers and sucked out in tubes. No chance of surviving that.
When pressed, Sen. Obama has stated that he would have voted in favor of the bills if they had included language to protect Roe v. Wade such as was included in a Federal bill that passed. The right to lifers argue that one of the Illinois bills DID include such language, nearly identical to that in the one which he claims he would have supported. Fact Check.org supports the assertion of the pro-lifers.
For the longest time, the Obama camp said that the National Right to Life Committee was lying. Now, apparantly after reviewing the facts, Obama’s website says that although the Illinois bill had the same language as the federal one after all, it has a different meaning. Same words, different meaning. You decide who’s the liar.
