Mission to Siberia
I don’t have a ton of information yet, but I thought I may as well go ahead and ask for prayers. I will be traveling in June and July to several cities in eastern Siberia as part of the Russian Project of my alma mater, Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN. We’ll start in Kamchatka and go west from there. At each location, we will conduct seminars on topics of Christian theology. Similar seminars have been key in helping local Russian Lutheran pastors plant and nurture congregations. I believe the two classes I’ll be teaching are Christian Ethics and The Meaning of Suffering. More info as it comes.
Blessings on your travels, Pastor Steigemeyer! I have been there twice. That group of Lutherans is wonderful to be among. I gained much more than I ever gave.

Also, I would love to see your Da Vinci Code PPT files when you complete them.

Beast, Thanks. Yes, as I mentioned on your blog, I will be doing a 3 or 4 part seminar on Da Vinci Code in the next couple of months, before going to Russia I hope. When I get that put together, I’ll happily share them. You can use, adapt or customize them any way you like. It won’t be fancy. I’m new to Powerpoint. But I plan to cover some useful information. If you happen to add any helpful bells and whistles, maybe you can share them back.

In 2002, I taught in Ekaterinaburg, Tomsk, Abakan, and Irkutsk by Lake Baikal.
Rode the Trans-siberian Railroad which was cool.
I packed an enormous suitcase which was not cool. Ended up barely fitting on the train and having to lug the thing a mile in the rain to the camp in Tomsk where we had the seminar.
Pack light.
The Christians there are amazing. As are the pastors.
