I just want to make sure I understand,

The parents are willing to care for their child, they are willing to let things play out as they may, have some hope she may get better? And the doctors have a problem with parents willing make sacrifices for their children?

Hmmm, interesting.

Charlotte is not intubated. The question is whether she should be intubated if she goes into respiratory distress.

Intubation is not painless and it is not without complications. In this case, it would simply increase the pain that Charlotte experiences. It may extend her life briefly, but mostly it will simply make the rest of her life more painful.

The parents are completely wrong and barbaric in this, but that's not the point.

They wish to make a medical decision for their child and they are being prevented. This decision is close enough that the doctors should follow the parents wishes, assuming there is a pediatric respirator available and putting Charlotte on this respirator will not endanger someone else.

Charlotte's parents should bear all costs since the doctors have determined the treatment is inappropriate.

I pray God would take this sweet little girl home to him before anyone gets to torture her more.

(And yes, I've intubated children myself and have taught physicians how to intubate and when they should intubate in an emergency.)

Rob of UnSpace

I pray God would take this sweet little girl home to him before anyone gets to torture her more.

(And yes, I’ve intubated children myself and have taught physicians how to intubate and when they should intubate in an emergency.)
