Is Philip Pullman the Most Dangerous Writer in Britain?
Peter Hitchens wrote an article for the Mail on Sunday in 2002 in which he criticizes Philip Pullman as the most dangerous author in Britain.
Philip Pullman, the author of the His Dark Materials Trilogy and outspoken hater of C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia
. His books, aimed at young readers, portray the church as thoroughly evil and God literally as a feeble-minded dolt who eventually dies.
There are many fantasy books series that portray concepts and values which support the Christian worldview. There are many that serve as entertainments and will not undermine the Christian perspective. But Pullman’s books set out with the intention of attacking Christianity, the Church and God Himself.

I do not want to judge his work without reading it myself. I have only read about him and heard some of the comments he’s made. To say the least he is a critic of the church. But past that I do not know.

Hi Cubicle,
I respect that. I wouldn’t be so quick to speak against a book I had not read myself either. But I did read Pullman’s trilogy. So my criticisms are based on my own reading. He really does portray God as an old, senile idiot.

You mean God isn’t a senile idiot? What Bible have I been reading?
